A Large Ecommerce Book Store, 12 Million Titles – A Case Study

Problem of the Study
This study examines retail businesses to determine their strategies for ecommerce, and how those strategies have changed since the beginning of implementation. Each business was also studied to determine how they handle strategic functions like inventory management, in-store operations, relationships with vendors and suppliers, and overhead costs associated with an ecommerce website.

Challenge
This website deals with large data — the stock quantity is around 12 million, updated six times a day. We had to optimize the website for large data and implement APIs to update stock details within a particular time frame.
Result
This website is a new online-only bookstore that sources and sells all of its books and other products.
